RAJIV YUVA KIRANALU

Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu is training program conducted in association with Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Training is provided in the following areas

1. Medical terminology and the language of medicine
2. English Grammar, Vocabulary, and Usage.
3. Elements of Style for Medical Transcription (AAMT Guidelines)
4. Typing, Computer and Word processing.
5. Transcription of medical dictation.

Duration of program

The training program is of approximately 1200 hours of classroom and practical training. It will be a full time program (8 hours per day 5 days a week) of 6 months’ duration.

Frequency of program and Batch size

Two concurrent batches of 25 are started every 6 months. Thus each training unit has an intake of 100 candidates in one year. Training is conducted in 10 locations.

Eligibility criterion

Eligibility for applying for enrolment is graduation with minimum of 60% marks in English either at intermediate level or graduation level.

Enrolment criterion

Admission to the program will be made on the basis of a screening test. This test will evaluate basic written English, general aptitude, logic, comprehension of spoken English and hearing abilities. Only candidates meeting basic requirements on these parameters will be eligible for enrolment.

Graduation criterion

There will be periodic testing and only successful candidates will be provided a certificate of graduation from the program. All others will be provided with a participation certificate. Graduation criterion will be equivalent of entry level performance expected by MT companies.

Placement criterion

Only successful graduates/trainees will be considered for the placement by participating MT companies who should be in a position to give an assurance in this regard. Two models can be adopted for placing successful graduates/trainees.

1) Direct placement of successful graduates/trainees by participating companies.
2) The participating companies can also consider helping successful graduates become entrepreneurs through subcontracting business to them.

Location of training programs

It is recommended that the training programs be conducted at locations where MT production units are already functioning such as Hyderabad, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Vijayawada and Warangal. This will facilitate sourcing of faculty, effective training as well as placement. However, eligible candidates from other districts may be given residential training at the nearest training center, with support of lodging and boarding cost by the Govt. A.P. under its prevailing employment generation schemes.
